DARCI Headquarters

During a recent trip by FAIRS to Dominica, we were able to encourage club members at general meeting of DARCI.   On January 28th, 2010 Curtis Gordon J73CAG brought special guest Austin Harris J73AH to speak to the group about the importance of regular meetings, communications and fun technology associated with the hobby.

He was really funny and a joy to hear!  Then, FAIRS gave a presentation of repeater cards needed to maintain the system island-wide.  Clem J73CI received them on behalf of the club.

Annual meeting was held, and officers and chairpersons were elected Thursday, February 4, 2010.

*FAIRS is a proud supporter of Dominica Amateur Radio Club (DARCI) and its members.  On the island of Dominica in the eastern Caribbean, FAIRS has helped to develop hurricane-hardened radio network for communication during disaster, helped to define and implement disaster preparedness plans, provided communications training.  Funded construction projects of DARCI headquarters.  Made donations of      radios, equipment and medical supplies.  Facilitated exchanges.  Provides stipends and other donations for community & children/youth groups, both educational and faith-based.
