Valda Woodman J73VW of Dominica Amateur Radio Club reported that a group of six members would be traveling for an amateur radio exercise...designed to test the readiness of emergency communications amongst islands in the Eastern Caribbean.

It is good that these islands are cooperating, and assisting one another during various times of need.

Valda said that they would go June 3rd, 2010 - 2 team members each to St. Lucia, to St. Vincent and to Grenada.  They will work together with local operators to test equipment and procedures for use during disaster.

It is Valda's first opportunity, and she is expecting to learn much and contribute, too!

Valda and others from the Club are well capable of participating in and/or managing projects related to disaster, civic service, damage assessment and relief.
