FAIRS CONTINUES CARIBBEAN MISSION:  DOMINICA APRIL '06

David KK4WW and Gaynell KK4WWW Larsen and Dee Dannewitz KG4VMI of FAIRS (Foundation for Amateur International Radio Service, Ltd.), flew to Dominica April 9th and caught up with Dr. Norris Lewis, a friend and colleague from Virginia, who partnered in these latest endeavors.

 Photo 1 FAIRS is back in the Office of the Prime Minister!
 Photo 2 In Castle Bruce, Agricultural Training area, newly tilled and ready to plant!
 Photo 3 Trainees in Ag Program are working in areas of rabbit rearing, greenhouse cultivation and outdoor farming.
 Photo 4 We stopped at Youthquake, a shelter/home for abused and neglected youth.
 Photo 5 With Attorney General Hon. Ian Douglas at this “Cocoatown Café”.
 Photo 6 At Wotten Waven Village Improvement Committee meeting,
Norris talks with families about the needs of the citizens and about the Community Center, now under construction.
 Photo 7 Gaynell Larsen J79WWW of FAIRS presents some of the great quantity of medical supplies for use at Dominica’s one hospital and the Central Medical Supply.
 Photo 8 We visited the staff at the health department to distribute donated items for first aid, etc.
 Photo 9 Joseph Guiste J73JT is now a member of the Disaster Management Committee, and is working with Village Council to put a plan in place before 2006 hurricane season.
 Photo 10 The “cooks” for the KFC (Kids for Christ) feeding program
 Photo 11 Residents of Wotten Waven have done the physical work of bending steel and setting columns, preparing a foundation for their highly anticipated community center!
